Today I saw the specialist for my knee and guess what?  I’m going in for another surgery.   That’s right boys and girls; two weeks after my lap band surgery I find out I need to have knee surgery.  It might be as early as next week, with a nice dose of physical therapy thrown in afterwards.   Needless to say, I’m thrilled.

This was supposed to be my time to enjoy, to heal and learn how to eat with the new plumbing, to get more active and really start to lose the weight.  Instead I have to walk with a cane, limping around.  I feel so much better than I used to, I really want to get out there and enjoy it.  That’s going to have to wait a little longer.

Am I pissed off?  Hell yes I am.   What am I going to do?  Deal with it as best I can, that’s what.   It’s one more battle, that’s all.  It’s not going to stop be.  In the big picture this isn’t even a wrinkle.   I’ll keep everyone posted, because basically I write all the time and like a drunk with an open bar I have trouble passing a message board without posting something.

I had surgery on my left knee Feb 06 (9 months after I injured it).  Don't know what condition you have but I had torn several ligaments and my meniscus (have no idea if I spelt those correctly).  Putting off the surgery was the worse thing I could have done.  I could not move around and gained about 40 pounds in that time (still have them all).  The knee still gets sore if I stress it too much but you will need to have it repaired if you want to work out.  I couldn't even walk without my knee brace on.

You should go in and get a complete overhall..... Wink

Very important ...pick a good doctor and follow thru with the therapy.

Good luck

Just think - once your knee is repaired there will be no holding you back. This way it's taken care of and you can only look forward and you never have to worry about this again. It could be worse, you could be recouperating with only protein shakes to drink!! You've come so far, keep your chin up! And write any time you like, there's always one of us around to reply! Wink

Well a knee update -

The surgery went well.  I've finished my 1st month of physical therapy.  I'm starting my 2nd month of it now.  Saw my doctor and he says everything is going well and I am much improved.  I'm walking as much as I can now.   It's stiff and sore, but not really painful.   They have me working out with weights now, rebuilding the strength in the leg.   I'm trying not to let it slow me down and toughing out the harder moments.  I haven't taken anything prescription for it in about three weeks.  Looking forward to walking all over the city at Christmas time with my family.

All in all life is good and I shouldn't complain.   The knee rehabilitation would have been a nightmare if I was 40-50 pounds heavier, as I was such a short time ago.
