Well, I am a 2 year post-opt patient and I have been generally happy with my weight loss, but I did develop a very scary problem after my last adjustment, and it was my own fault because Dr. Buchin told me the band was really tight and I assured him it felt fine. (Always listen to him in these areas people)

For the first couple of days after the adjustment I was fine, the food was going down nice and slow and I was getting plenty to drink.  Heck I even went to my friend Osk's B-day party (yes the same Osk who posts here as well) and had some very nice Jell-O. But the next day I started to have problems drinking my protein shakes, and eating the soft foods, then I started having problems keeping them down.  I started to vomit almost everything I ate, and I thought, maybe I'm not chewing right, or I am having a reaction to the milk in the protein shakes(which has happened to me before).  Then the Acid reflux began, uncomfortable and painful, I wasn't even able to drink water, much less eat.  I tried to take some Anti-Acid table and I vomited up Even that.  I had planned to call Dr. Buchin's office to be seen this week, but then during the night, I woke up with my stomach burning, and nauseous.  I vomited Blood.  I thought maybe I scratched my throat, and decided to wait till the next day to oversee it.  Let's just say it wasn't an easy night.  I went to see a movie with my husband only to spend half of it going to the bathroom to throw up... Basically Foam, brown foam that smelled like blood.  I went home and called Dr. Buchin's emergency number, (only to later find out he was out of town...sorry for disturbing your getaway Doc!) but I spoke to the on-call who recommended if I continued to vomit to go to Emergency room.  Two hours later at the ER dear Dr. Buchin called me back, and I made an appointment to see Sofia(I owe you a big one for coming in on your day off girl!) to loosen the band.  I had to have IV liquids as well as IV Pepsin for the heartburn, and dehydration as the ER doctors noted that I was still puking blood.  Thankfully after the Pepcid, the blood stopped and I was able to go home.  My band has been readjusted and now I can't drink my beloved coffee for 3 weeks  Cry  The pain has mostly subsided, and I am on liquids for a while.  Beware the overly tight Lap-Band people!!!

The battle isn't over until you stop fighting.

I am so sorry GB.   You're closer to me than my own sister and it kills me that you had to go through this.   I think it's great that you posted this and I hope it helps someone at some point.
