And so I had my surgery March 12, 2008 almost a month ago. Today April 14th, I had an endoscopy to help a restriction. I was unable to eat without vomiting for about 3 weeks- liquids went down okay as long has they didnt have any pieces/chunks in them- if they did forget it i would get this horrible pain and spend the next 30 minutes vomiting with the dry heaves. Dr. Buchin said that this is rare and usually happens later on in the stages but hopefully the problem is fixed and i can start eating again!! But Dr. Buchin was great and was right there to help me through it Smiley

Hi Casandra!
I am so glad that you had the endoscopy and now will start feeling good.  What a shame that had to happen to you.  The worse is over now and you can start enjoying yourself and be happy that you had the gastric bypass.  It's still the best thing that I've ever done.  I'll give you a call in a day or two and see how you are doing.
Love,

so far so good.... soft foods are going down but still very uncomfortable time eating, but Dr. Buchin says that after I have one more endoscopy in about 3 weeks I should feel much better... but at least now I can eat when I go on vacation. I was pretty scared that I was going to have to pack a suitcase of tomato soup-ha
Thanks Dr. Buchin you're a life saver Smiley

well Its been about 2 weeks almost 3 since I had the ballon dilation and I'm back to getting sick again Sad I didnt get to eat on vacation and its back to soup, protein shakes and yogurt. I try to eat but I just get this horrible pain and get sick.   Although it is frustrating I do not really have too much time to think about it. Its pretty much become routine now. Hot tea with honey seems to make my stomach feel better after getting sick. I know most of you are like oh my she uses honey, well i hate sugar in my tea and fortunately I do not dump from sugar. The weight still keeps coming off and I've been going to the gym but sometimes hard to work out as much as I would like cause I cant really eat solid foods- but for now this is how things are. I talked with Dr. Buchin and I will have another endoscopy in a few weeks after finals are over. I should probably be doing it much sooner, however its just too crazy with school and work to try and fit that in right now.  Other than the vomitting thing, everything else seems to be good, no other complications.

Hey Robert- welcome back to the boards, I didnt see you for a while Smiley

Casandra,

I'm sorry you aren't feeling well Sad A friend of mine had this problem after her  bypass.Things improved for her after the second endoscopy and she is down 142 Lbs and at goal now. Good luck with your finals and I hope you feel better really soon!
