Labels, kitchen electronics and portions

Now that I am working on having this surgery I have tried to do a few little things that I know will need to be priorities in my life. First reading labels on food has me floored. Sure I knew I was supposed to read nutritional labels but I never really did it. If it was something I thought I would like I bought it, if not it went back on the shelf. Some of the things I have read have shocked me especially when it comes to sugars/carbs. Food is a fuel, this is a totally different perspective and it will take time for me to adjust to. I now own a food scale. What looks like one portion for me turns out to be much larger than what a "normal" portion really is. I am trying to learn how to take the time to prepare ahead of time and not go to work without a thing to eat and figure I will eat something at the candy machine if I feel hungry. The one thing I have to change is everything. Now if I can just learn to love Isopure...............

The battle isn't over until you stop fighting.

It does get easier and you will get used to it. It takes time and as you keep changing you'll need to keep making changes to keep up. Hang in there, take your time.
