Hi Everyone! My knee surgery went very well, however I developed a cyst on my "bottom" which makes it impossible to sit! Following another surgery I am finally on the road to recovery and starting physical surgery to get my knees fully operational again. I am walking with a cane, although I can do some walking without it! I can do stairs as well. Amazing that they don't hurt, only some pain at the surgical site. It went much better than I expected. I hope to be able to really begin some activities soon.
Most importantly, I can't believe how much I miss all of you. It was so great reading the posts I've missed since my surgery. The good news is that I've reached Dr. Buchin's goal for me, which was lower than my goadl, of course. I have lost 160 pounds and am down to about 125. I never thought it would be possible The funniest part is that with the knee surgery you are constantly being asked for your medical history including prior surgeries. Every time I told someone I had bariatric surgery they couldn't believe it! When I told them how much I used to weigh, they were shocked. I'm still getting used to the smaller me, and none of these people can visualize the "old" me. Go figure. Now I have to focus on maintaining my weight and nutrition and start planning for my next surgery to find some place to put all the excess skin I have. It's still the best thing I ever did.
I can't drive yet, but I hope to be able to come to the next support group. I need to see all of you!
Love,
Diane
