Hi Everyone...
All day long, whenever the phone rang, I answered it by saying "THREE MORE DAYS!!" (I'm having laparoscopic Roux-En-Y surgery on January 30th.
I saw Dr. Buchin and Sophia this past Friday and Sophia took my "fat" picture, gave me my last minute instructions, and as usual, she patiently answered all my questions. Then I reminded Dr. Buchin to make sure he got a real good night's sleep Tuesday (which he said he always does), gave him a hug (ladies, isn't he just so cute), and went home smiling.
I am ready for my operation. My house is spotlessly clean. All my bills are paid. My hospital bag is all packed....toothbrush & paste, chapstick, lotion, liquid face soap, baby powder, wipes (like "MONK" uses), underwear, socks, a shirt, very loose sweatpants (to go home in), and a book. I think I can survive for two days with just that. I am usually a very heavy packer when I go anywhere.
I'll say it again because I am so excited...Three More Days! I can't wait. I can't believe that I made it through my 2 weeks pre-op liquids only diet. And I can't believe how easy it turned out to be. I have more energy now without food. Amazing.
I am so into having this operation. I haven't even had it yet, and yet everytime I see a heavy person, I want to tell them "don't waste another day of your life...go for it!!!" Part of me is sorry I didn't do it 10, even 20 years ago. But then I wouldn't have met Dr. Buchin and Sophia

Also, I think today doctors and hospitals know a lot more about the surgery than they did back then.
January 30, 2008 starts the first day of my brand new exciting life!! Thank you Dr. Buchin and Sophia for everything!
Dee
