Talk to the people on the boards.  We've all been where you are.  We've all felt the same fear at one time or another.  We all pushed past it and found that after the surgery things were much better than we expected.  Please try to come to the support group meeting next week too, I've found them very helpful.

What always helped me was trying to focus on what would happen if I didn't get the surgery.  The fear of continuing down the path I was on far outweighed the fear of getting surgery.  Good luck and know that there are plenty of people willing to talk and help you past the tough times.

Donna bee, i started looking into weight loss surgery in 2005.  i was going back and forth about the whole process.  i talked to alot of people and family about it, and they all talked me out of it so many times.  but i finally thought to myself these people do not live in my body and do not go through what i do.  so i prayed and made up my mind to get out there and start to live my life.  now i am happy that i am doing this, and look forward to a long happy life.   just research, research, and then research some more and get all the facts that you can.  come to the support meetings and listen to everyone's story.

hope this helped

I agree, reading the posts and coming to the support group really help. It answers questions you haven't even thought of - and people share so honestly that it really helps you cope. It removes the unknown. If you can come next Tuesday, please do. We really are a great group, if I do say so myself. At the very least you will have a good laugh, Wink
